Do people really believe that the earth is less than 10,000 years old?

With the innumerable amounts of evidence pointing to the earths age being around 4.5 billion years old how is it feasible that people still believe that the earth is less than 10,000 years old. Carbon dating shows that it is at least over 54,000 years old and uranium dating shows that it must be even older. So how can someone beleive that it is less than 10,000 years old?
