Ladies, could this be what is keeping me from dating and finding a mate?
Ok, so I am NOT like your stereotypical male who has just turned 30. You see, due to my decision to join the Marines, I am just now getting my undergraduate degree. I left the Marines at 23, moved to Colorado's second largest city for a job, got laid off after 3 years and started my post-secondary education here. I have posted this exact same information innumerable time on dating websites and women don't want to have anything to do with me. I am not grossly overweight nor am I obese. I suspect that women think that it is extremely odd that I am my age and am still in college. You see, truth be told, serving in the military as an enlisted person actually puts you behind with respect to getting a decent job that pays a living wage in the real world. When you leave the military without a degree, employers view you as no better off than any other average Joe who has just graduated from high school. So, in essence, you pretty much piss away four, five, or even six years of your life by not going to college BEFORE joining the military. Seriously ladies, I think that women here in COS, Colorado view me as some type of loser since I don't already have a degree and a job. I suspect that not having a good paying job is perhaps the biggest detriment towards me being able to find someone. Would YOU personally reject a guy because he is my age and doesn't have all of his ducks in a row simply because he formerly served in the military? Please remember that not everyone has the privilege of being able to take the traditional path to college straight out of high school and landing a regular job thereafter. I sure didn't and it has most certainly negatively affected my ability to date and/or find a wife. There are no single women in Jax, NC who AREN'T Marine wives.
