Would you use terms like "Homophobia" or "bigotry" to describe this Church's doctrinal position?

I'd use Homophobia because it is about fear.........the idea of treating kindly the wretched sinners (who's only sin is love), while casting "limits" on Church eligibility, rings to me of blind fear!
