Norman Borlaug, Martyr or Saint?

I'm writing an essay on the green revolution, and I'm just wondering how balanced peoples view is on him. Technically he indirectly saves innumerable people from starvation, and brought about changes which have imploded industry overseas. Although did he do more harm than good? Are some of the repercussions of the green revolution such as mono-culture and land reform doing more harm than good?
