My beloved shrimp died. Do I take him out of my tank now or wait a few hours?

Hi, I woke up and turned my tank light on at about 8:40am this morning. I saw an exosekleton aon one side of my 1+ gallon and a dead shrimp at the other. I'm sure. Im guessing she's dead because my platies kinda sleep swim at night and thrash all around the tank when they sleep, and they mustve crashed into my "naked" shrimp, which had no exoskeleton at the time, and my poor shrimp snaped a body part and died. Just a guess. She's way too big for my betta and platies to attack. I have a few fry hiding at the leaves above the tank and I was going to petsmart to buy a net for them to stay in. But I wasnt expecting my shrimp to die. So, I'd have to siphon out or net out my dead shrimp, but my baby fish will loose their hiding places if I maneuver my net around the tank to get the dead shrimp, and my fry will be eaten. So, do I wait until I return from the petstore [about 11am or so] or risk my fry and take out my shrimp now? I have other shrimp and a snail there. And a betta but all my vertebraes ignore shrimp.

Why does my head start to hurt whenever I scream?

I have sinuses since more than almost 10 years. I'm 19 now. I have gotten myself checked with innumerable doctors for my headaches because my sinuses keeps coming back once a time during Summer and many times during winter. It's worse this winter. BUT OK I UNDERSTAND its my sinuses that gives me problems with headaches, but what do I do with my headache when it comes to screaming? Why do people pick out only metallica for "selling out"?

I don't understand why ANYONE says ANY of those bands sold out. For example Metallica, OH MY GOD A COUPLE OF RICH THIRTY YEAR OLDS DECIDED TO GET A HAIRCUT!!! WHATEVER WILL WE DO!?!?!? I also believe that none of those bands would have taken time to record those albums if they didn't enjoy doing it, you have to think about them. Keep up the long distance workouts because you need to build up lung capacity. Anything that gets you breathing hard is good for this. You need that extra endurance at the end of a race you have more in you then your opponents. Also, keep in mind that when your times aren't improving when you are running by yourself, they will be better in a race when you have adrenaline and people to push you harder.

Ravenous and agitated baby - please help!?

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I had my little boy a week ago and have been having problems for the last 3 days or so. I was told he should be feeding 30 - 60ml in one sitting, but he's taking up to 120ml. I keep stopping when I feed him to see if he's full and then wind him before offering him more. He can't get enough milk, he just seems so hungry and gets so agitated, he keeps violently thrashing around and hitting his face. When your not cutting her nails, ex: while shes in your lap or playing with her, touch her paws, put your finger tips between her toes, then if she dose good give her a treat. Then start doing that with the trimmers, just tap the end of the trimmers to the nail and nothig else. Once your dog gets used to that, then you can start to clip them, but be sure when your doing all of this you giving the dog praise for being "such a good puppy" After your dog is used to the nail trimings, try and do it once a week, just the very tips, that way you are keeping the dog in routine and there less afraid to have it done next time. today i was driving (with permit) and a police officer was driving with his siren on hauling. I was about to get on a 2 lane bridge that has no shoulder and panicked so i kept on going, police officer gets behind me and trys passing me, on the other lane was an oncoming truck(the bridge is made where its like a hill and you cant see the other side until you've gotten to the other side). When I was 17 years old, I met a guy named..let's call him Jay. Jay and I connected instantly. Within three months we got our first apartment together and were practically inseperable. I ended up going away for college and cried the entire trip and first week I was there. I ended up driving three hours one way EVERY weekend just to be near him for a day. But we were young, and I was insecure and thought he was cheating on me so we broke up. After a month of avoiding him calling and calling and calling (I was away at school) the calls suddenly stopped. It scared me to death, so I called him to see if he was okay or had gotten hurt. He was fine physically, but so depressed that he was moving across country (Literally east coast to west coast) to live with his dad. It felt like someone had stabbed me. It took me less than two heart beats to decide that I was going with him to wherever he was. So I packed my bags and we moved. Life was great. We were always smiling and laughing, we did so many amazing things...adventures I guess I consider them...and then, when I was 21 I found out I was pregnant. Everything went down hill from there as my attention turned away from him onto our child that I was carrying. And he became abusive. I tolerated the unusual negative behavior until our son was 4 months old, and I finally couldn't take it anymore, so i decided I was moving back to the east coast. There was never a discussion, if I went, he was going to go. So we moved, and life settled down. He actually really began to enjoy being a parent and I thought the worst was behind us...until we got pregnant AGAIN, less than 6 months after having our first son. The pattern of abusive behavior began again, and reckless behavior on his part...but not until I started to show that I was carrying a child. By the time our second son was two months old I called the police and had him arrested for one of the many abusive inciddents. And I knew that I had made the right choice. I was a single mother of two infants for almost a year, when I met my current husband. He had 6 children from a previous marriage so he enjoyed the babies. It took almost too much time and energy to blend our families, or even to form a deeply rooted bond between the two of us (even though he is an amazing man) and I just wrote it off to being so hurt by Jay. It's been over three years since I've seen Jay's face, heard his voice, even asked about him, but when I close my eyes at night it's his face that I dream about. I know that I should be scared of him, but honestly, after the anger wore off...the sense of abandonment, there's just been an enormous feeling of loss. When I allow myself to think about him it feels like someone is stabbing me right in the center of my stomach and I almost have to bend over from the pain. I just don't know where I go from here..I've moved on. I'm married to a wonderful, respectable man who brings out the best in me and loves and accepts my children. I am 20 years old and have recently had to move back in with my parents due to financial and personal reasons. I know for a fact that our small family is not communicating well at all and our family relationship is all but falling to pieces. In order to live peaceable together I suggested that we attend family counseling together to find a way work out innumerable problems with a mediator. I just overhead my parents discussing how "family counseling" would be a joke because I am 20 (a legal adult) and therefore the counselor would not see us as a family. My father was saying that family counseling is for families with children of course under the legal age. Is this true? I disagree because for an unknown amount of time I will be going to college and living under my parent's roof. I will be supported entirely by them and even though I am legally an adult, technically we are still a family living together. A family that needs counseling to peaceable exist in harmony. Basically my question is: Do you think "Family Counseling" is only for families with children under the legal age? Do you think a family with a college student living under their roof who is 20- Do you think it would be absurd for that family to go to family counseling?

Hey im fifteen and im kind of confused about how credible of a person I am. I know it sounds stereotypical, a teenager being confused about life but please don't get caught up in that. I sometimes think that im not worth the money that my parents spend on me. I get sent to camp every year and that is expensive enough, but my parents also pay for my lunch everyday and birthday/christmas gifts. I do talk about getting a job but when I do the idea is usually dismissed by my parents. My parents are nice enough, except our family of three (yes, only child) is substantially dysfunctional. My dad has a drinking problem and it does affect myself and my mother. He's yelled at both of us, has verbally harassed us innumerable times and has even physical harmed us on a couple of occasions. Of course you probably think that this is obviously wrong and that my mom and I are being abused, but I can't help but feel that I bring this on myself sometimes. My dad was brought up in a overwhelmingly conservative fashion, and this probably explains his methods of coping with what he considers a bad life. He has told my mom that he is unhappy. I do not get good enough grades for him, which means that I get 70s and mid 80s, and he thinks that I am capable of better. The thing is, I probably am capable of better, but I do have poor work ethics. Sometimes I am so lazy I acknowledge my homework and assignments, and yet still just forget about them, making a brief mental note to think of a pathetic excuse for the teacher. I have even done this with big projects. I view school as an obstacle to hard to tackle, so most of the time I don't even try. I do weed, not habitually but often enough, and I know it's not the best thing for me to do but it's something I enjoy a bit and it hasn't noticeably changed anything about my life yet. That being said, I never drink, not because im a hipppie but because I don't find it enjoyable. Sometimes I do wonder if it is a combination of the fact my dad abuses alcohol, and that weed is more appealing to me as a concept that makes me this way. I do have a liberal view on drugs, but im not an idiot. I am leaning towards liberal arts as a career path, which is funny because few of my friends share this interest. I also wonder if my intrigue with writing and film is just another lame excuse that enables me to have the poor work ethic and liberal outlook. I do admit that I am a nonconformist and that I sometimes slander things for the sake of individuality. When my dad drinks he sometimes says that im ungrateful and that I don't deserve what I get. I guess that my guilty insecurities and my desperate melancholic curiousity spawned this post. Am I the white over privileged, ungrateful, ignorant, lazy person im afraid I might be? Sometimes I try to tell myself that the weed and laziness is some modern take on a boys will be boys phase. I know that you are probably making a connection between weed and my lack of initiation, but I've always been that way, I've always found ways to temporarily weasel out of responsibilities and tasks, most of the time catching up with me.

I never deal with elitists. I leave them alone to deal with their own stubborn perspectives because there's no reforming them. Besides most metal trolls are too ignorant to have a great perception of the genre anyhow, so I forget about them. Their opinions aren't worth it after all. Real metalheads respect the tastes of others (so far as I've seen and heard). In fact, I've met some great guys right here *ahem* not saying that we lack elitist trolls either. Socially, I suffer from the same problem too because I honestly don't look like the sort of person to listen to metal and so people don't take me seriously. I haven't given up on it though because it's my music and my opinion and I'm the only one to judge.

Can my dog get rabies from a dead animal?

I was playing fetch with my yorkie this morning and the ball rolled down a hill behind our shed. I waited for my dog to come back to me with the ball but she didn't so I went to see what she was doing. I saw her rolling around on the ground (like she usually does when she finds something smelly) next to what looked like a dead squirrel or rabit. At the quick glance I took I saw it was rotting and opened up, not just laying dead. So if my dog came in contact with the insides of a wild animal, is there a chance she could get rabies? ALSO the inside of her lower left eyelid is red and puffy. this just came up today as far as I've seen. She always has sties and goobers in her eyes though. The vet has never mentioned anything about it at a check up. She has gotten this red puffy thing on her eye before but usually passes within a week or two. How to forgive a mother for leaving you with your sick father and little sister?

my mother left me when i was 8 yrs old. my father was 39 when he had his first heart attack. then his health went down hill from there! his diabetics took over him and he started to get lots of wounds and was going in and out of the hospital! my sister was 4 yrs old. My mother wanted nothing to do with me and my sister! she also wanted to not send any money to help take of us. my father had to fight with her to send up some money and she still didn't send up the money! now here is the thing my father just pasted away December 14th of 2010. I am now going to be 17 next month on July 18th. my mother and i and sister became 1 again. but it was a broken 1. my mother donated my daddy's body to science. she also didn't let me or my dads family morn she hid everything she did with dad from everyone!!!! now i went down and TRIED to forgive her but it didn't work out. then she cut off all outside communication from my sister and i. i had been my sisters mom sister and my fathers housekeeper and care taker. because he was sick! she started to push my sister around then my mother and i got into a BIG fight. she beat me up because i got my phone turned back on! and she chocked me then my gram got me up here to where i lived with my dad. under the circumstances that my gram not file any more papers! now she wants me to go down and she called the police and child and youth services. to re-enforce that i come down with her! now i don't know how to forgive her for EVERYTHING she put me thru! Its good but i agree too much description ! A story has to flow easily and sorry but it doesn't here. You have wrote three paragraphs and we learn barely anything about the character. Fitness/Running Tips?

I play HS football and ever since last season ended i've gained around 25lbs and its not good. And since football season is around the corner im trying to get fit. Today was the first day i went out to run. I started with a 1/4 a mile walk then started doing some hills. The hill is a pretty decent size and my goal was 30 but i only got to 10 then i was really out of breath and light headed. Last year i could run 30 before i even started to feel anything. I just wanted to know if there is a plan i could do to not feel so tired or light headed. And also when i was running the hills before i even got tired my calf muscles started tighting up and hurting, and i don't know if this is relevant but i have big calf muscles. I also streched for a good 30 min. Just wanted to know what was wrong.

My husband and I met each other when we were 20 years old. We were friends for 3 years before we started dating. When we finally stated seeing each other we had already become like best friends and moved in together pretty much immediately. That was 17 years ago. The first 10 years flew by, we didn't have any kids and we went out, we had adventures, we moved 2000 miles away from home and started a life together. We bought a house, started a business, struggled through bad times, lived paycheck to paycheck, and still managed to get along. We eventually started doing better financially and decided to stop trying to prevent a pregnancy, we had never really been all that careful anyway. We didn't have any "scares" in ten years so I kinda figured that it wasn't in the cards but we both knew we wanted kids "someday", I wasn't getting any younger, blah, blah, blah...well I ended up getting pregnant within a month with my son, followed 16 months later by his little sister. I had been working the office side of our landscape company for years from home anyway so it was an easy adjustment into stay at home mom...or so I thought. Since the kids got here our life has fallen to crap along with the economy. We had always live pretty hand to mouth before, but in the last 7 years its been pretty bad. We bought an investment home while things were looking good and fell into the trap that a lot of people did with the real estate market. We have since lost our home and had to move into the investment house. Our landscape business went under and my husband has been trying to start a small custom car shop out of the barn in our backyard. Its going okay but not exactly paying the bills and now we are about to lose this house too. We are way behind in the mortgage and hardly have enough to pay for groceries most weeks. I have thought of trying to find a job but there is no one to help with the kids, the nature of the business is that these guys come over in the evenings and they work on the cars throughout the night. My husband continues to work through the day and he rarely is even in the house. He really only comes in to shower, eat, or to sleep. I go out to the shop and he only wants to talk about cars, racing, or what I'm doing wrong with the kids. I knew when we had the kids that they would be mostly my responsibility but I have been left with them with no escape since the were born. I really am only away from them to maybe go to the corner store real quick. Its been a real struggle, I have let my "office" responsibilities go to nothing. There is pile of paperwork in our office about 5 years deep. Frankly I was overwhelmed with my son and since my daughter came I'm just lost. My son just turned 5 and has been in preschool this year which is kind of a respite but by the time I take him to school and drive home it seems like I just turn around and go get him again. I can't concentrate on anything, there is always a little voice in my ear asking for something from the time I wake up in the morning until I put them to bed. I have tried to tackle the paperwork innumerable times but I only get to a point where I've sorted stuff out and am ready to start working when its time to get do or help one of the kids. I could be more diligent but I haven't been yet. Between the kids and my husband I feel like i'm being harrassed ALL THE TIME. No one eats anything in this house including my husband it seems that I dont have to hand to them, no one else does anything to keep the place clean, i do all the laundry. I know I don't work so thats my responsibilty but I am feeling like I don't get anything out of any of my efforts. I don't have a car, I don't get to go anywhere besides the grocery store, we moved away from my family and I concentrated on the business for so long that I never really made any friends down here and it seems have forgotten how. I have met a few other women over the years but my husband always had a problem with them for one reason or another so I chose him over them. At this point I'm very overweight, I have always struggled with my weight and confidence and my husband is an ex jock and very in shape and very outspoken and confident. He is brutally honest and doesn't hold back when it comes to telling me whats wrong with me. I get told what to do, when to to do it, and then criticized on the job I did about everything I do. I know that he is under stress and I'm his only whipping post but it has really effected me. And he doesn't seem to care. My husband Gary passed away on June 4, 2011. We have been married for 28 years in Aug but I have been with Gary for 30 years. We have 2 children and 5 grandchildren . He was only 50 years old I have found that I really miss him and just want someone to hold me, he was sick for little bit then I brought him home from a hospital out of state and was doing good for about a week and then he went down hill I had him home for 15 days when he passed. We had a home heath nurse coming out everyday to change the dressing on his tailbone that he got from the hospital almost 1 year ago and it had MERSA in it before he was transferred out of state to a so called better hospital the MERSA was gone but when we got home the nursing company that was coming out to help him took swab samples and sent them to a lab and the test came back with MERSA but not one from the USA it is from IRAN or someplace over there. I am sure that is was killed him and I am having a very hard time with it. If he didn't have the open sore on the tailbone in the first place he would still be with me and are kids 2 days before he died we found out that we are going to be grandparents again for the 6th time and that is really great. My question is this is it wrong for me to want someone to hold me? I don't know if I will ever be able to stop grieving my sole mate.

So, in essence, you pretty much piss away four, five, or even six years of your life by not going to college BEFORE joining the military. Seriously ladies, I think that women here in COS, Colorado view me as some type of loser since I don't already have a degree and a job. I suspect that not having a good paying job is perhaps the biggest detriment towards me being able to find someone. **DESPERATE** How can I get my pug to cooperate with nail trimming?

I have an 8 year old pug who will not allow us to clip her nails. She yelps, screams, wiggles, thrashes and is impossible to restrain(even by 2 adult men). We have had her since a puppy and it has been an escalating problem over time. We have tried to alter her bad habit by handling her paws daily, talking to her, toweling her, and giving her treats while trimming. For several years we were able to get the groomer to do it, but now they have to turn us away because they cannot trim her nails. We have tried oral sedative recommended by vet (I believe it was bendadryl). Even our vet has problems. They past two trims she required doggy equivalent of laughing gas.. and the last time they could only get her front nails. I do not think that putting her under general anesthesia is financially feasible OR heatlhy so I am desperate for any suggestions.

Why do I over-analyse eeeverything!?

Help, I dunno what to do, every time I'm given a task, I break it down into innumerable chunks and sort them by reasons and logic. Like I'll think about what the purpose of each stage of the task is, and it's fine but I get worn out and find it hard to talk to people when I talk so much about practically nothing and get excited by things that other people aren't paying attention to. And yeah it started years ago when parents and teachers used to force me to change myself, I would analyse the problem and try and find a solution, but now that the analysing has become the problem, I'm going in circles... How do I stop over-analysing and start being a normal human being?

I used to have these very vivid dreams close to waking up?

I sometimes still have these dreams, actually I'm not even sure they're dreams, but still... In these dreams I would realize that I am very close to consciousness, and I would usually start dreaming about something in my real life. It is usually very good, like a best case scenario vision. It has ranged everywhere from being good at a video game to finding out a girl liked me. It seems as though I am still attached completely to reality and everything that happens is quite possible, but it seems like everything went right. Sometimes I would wake up really quickly and jolt upwards from my dream, and fall right back into it. I would sense myself thrashing around, and sometimes I wake myself up completely if I knock something over. These dreams are weird, and I'm just wondering what they are! Thanks for any help! :)

What really annoys me is how people say Metallica sold out and saying that slayer stayed true to thrash. metallica slowed their sound down on the black album, slayer did the same thing on south of heaven and seasons in the abyss. it seems to me that the only reason metallica gets insulted for "selling out" with the black album is because it sold well. also I'm a fan of both bands so dont call me a fanboy. i just want to hear what some of you guys think. do you think that if metallica slowing their sound down on the black album makes them sell outs than slayer doing the same thing also makes them sell outs?

Would you consider moving back to the town you grew up in up on retirement ?

i see listed on the news about the best cities for retirement , and started thinking , about our small indiana town , in an area that's mostly flat our town sits on either side of the wabash river so our town has hills , other than the strip north of town where all the fast foods and walmart the down town is still the same. our movie theater was build when live stage acts were the attraction , and we still have a drive in theater too property is cheap taxes, are cheap ( mine was less than $250 for the year ) we have a nice community center that the show place for this part of the state as an example zz top is playing there soon we have a ymca and if enough come back we all know each other already

Do NOT kill yourself. Life DOES get better. You're only 19 years, and that's so young. Life does get better, honestly. There are hardships and such but you don't realize that things WILL get better, and killing yourself will leave those who love you behind. Go out, make new friends like your old friend did too. There are other people out in the world too who are just like you, waiting to make friends. Take the first step and get out there.
